Abstract
The globally available information
technologies have an extraordinary potential to transform the educational
process. Modern teachers want to use this potential to enhance their teaching
activities. However, creating Internet resources that are stimulating,
appealing, easy to use and educationally sound is time consuming and requires
considerable expertise. Virtual learning environments allow educators
to create resources quickly and without the need to develop technical
skills. The main characteristic of such Web-based course management tools
is that they integrate technological and pedagogical features of the Internet
and the World Wide Web into a single, template-based authoring system
to facilitate the design, development, delivery and management of Web-based
courses and online learning environments.
The author reports about her first
experiences on creating and implementing an interactive learning environment
in teaching physiology to medical students of Zagreb Medical School. |
