1. finding partners and determining exchange activities
2. appointing a project coordinator
3. applying the project via application forms, gathering the required documentation
4. verification and approval of received forms
5. assessment of the application and setting a rank-list
6. setting the rank-list is followed by the meeting of an international committee which selects the "winners", i.e., the highest ranking projects; the amount of the award is adjusted in accordance with a free quota
7. the committee sends a Letter of Award to the coordinator
8. the coordinator sends his Letter of Acceptance to the national CEEPUS office
9. networks report on the amount of quota to be used
10. the national CEEPUS office starts granting awards
