ICT-related projects (Information and Communications Technologies), encompassing e-learning as well, are extensively covered by logistic and financial support via lines of financing agreed between European states.

Lines of financing fall into several categories, covering:

• scientific projects (COST),
• professional and developmental projects (TEMPUS, EUREKA), and
• lines demanding both of the above components (FRAMEWORK).

Accordingly, projects lead either to scientific developments or marketable products.

What all these lines have in common is bringing together project partners from various European countries. Co-operation between partners from scientific research institutions on the one hand, and business organisations on the other, will be welcome.

Compared to domestic projects, international projects boast larger funding. However, they also demand a higher level of involvement in both the application and execution of the project.
