Distance learning projects in Croatia are funded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport (MZOS), as well as CARNet. In order for scientific projects to be funded by MZOS, they have to be selected by general calls for scientific projects prompted by the Ministry. On the other hand, professional and developmental projects in the field of distance learning can be submitted within IT application projects and HITRA.

Scientific research institutions and schools can make applications for CARNet funds allotted for education and IT.

Generally, the funds granted are of limited amount. However, the applications themselves are not too demanding.

Projects can be submitted independently (scientific projects funded by MZOS, IT application projects, CARNet projects), or in partnership with business organisations (HITRA).
