EUREKA projects are fairly large scale ones (amounting to 1 million EUR and above) and have to yield a marketable product.

They require a participation of partners from industry, who are expected to invest their own resources in project development. Therefore, the idea must be marketable and must contain a detailed operational plan, as well as a partnership contract.

This line is not convenient for beginner applicants, nor for scientists lacking a partner in industry.

Croatia has secured rather small funds for EUREKA, although this line of financing may have a significant impact on its national economy.
