The application procedure is not as complex as with other international projects, another advantage being that the reply whether the project has been approved is received within a relatively short time.

The application form should be written in the length of 10-12 pages, and the results are published within 3 to 4 months. Three calls are announced annually.

The projects are international, so it is necessary to cooperate with partners from NATO countries. Croatia has been classified as a partner country, but notwithstanding that status you can be a project coordinator. The minimum number of partners required is two.

Consultations with NATO project coordinators have revealed that funds normally range from 10,000 EUR to 50,000 EUR. Therefore, the funds are not excessive, yet they are proportional with the effort put into the application.

Furthermore, NATO's funds are allotted to researchers rather than institutions.
