Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is one of the most popular and most interactive Internet services. IRC enables real-time conversation with other people who are anywhere in the world. By using IRC client programs, text messages can be exchanged.

After the installation of the client program a user has to register with the selected IRC server, after which the user chooses a channel on which they will converse. A personal channel can be created (e.g. RCzaMiK), and when creating a channel for private conversations a password is defined, which will subsequently have to be typed by the users who wish to use that channel.
