Header – In e-mail terminology this is part of the message which states the sender and some general data. Some web pages also have headers.

Hit – Visit, access, demand; demand directed at the server. Popularity of individual computers in the world networks is measured by the number of hits or visits to a certain server computer.

Home page – personal page on the World Wide Web, representing also the main and first page of a web used by a company, organization, university or a physical person from which the user moves on to other pages by using hyperlinks.

Host – the main computer. Users usually connect to the host computer always when they connect to the Internet.

Hot spot – An area on a screen in a multimedia title which, if you click on it, causes the new information to appear or the program to skip to a new notion.

HTML - (Hyper Text Transport Protocol) has been used on the World Wide Web since 1990. This protocol on a program level is absolutely essential for spreading information over the Internet.

HTTP - (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) Protocol for transfer of hypertext documents used on the Internet. Documents are written in HTML (a program language for hypertext documents).

Hyperlink – On World Wide Web pages hyperlinks are text or images marked by colour (or otherwise) which, when they are clicked on, open other pages. They can also be used for automatic file, audio or video download.

Hypertext – Text in which certain words or images serve as links to other texts, images, sound records or any other computer-processed document.
