mini DV – There are several types of DV signal tapes; Accordingly there are several types of camcorders, such as SONY handyCam using a miniDV, a small tape, its quality equalling that of other such devices. 

Mirror site - FTP site containing exactly the same files as its mirror site. Sites can mirror several times, often in different countries all over the world. This simplifies downloading of files from very popular and overloaded FTP sites.

Mosaic – Network browser created by a group of people from NSCA. In other words, graphical interface for accessing files on the Internet.

MPEG - (Motion Picture Experts Group) Compression format for video records used for movies or animations on the Internet.

.mpg or .mpeg – extension for MPEG films.

MPC – The usual name for multimedia PC.

Multimedia – Information presented or stored as a combination of different media through graphics, text, sound, animation and video.
