Icon – A picture or a symbol on the computer screen which enables image communication between the user and the device.

Image map – Image with clickable areas or the possibility to use several hyperlinks from one image file. For example, the image could be a map of a state divided in several areas where each of those areas would, by further clicking on the hyperlink, open a larger map of the same area.
